On 11 May 2023, Able Australia had the pleasure of inviting Herbert Smith Freehills staff to experience art with a new perspective at their lunch event.

We had four interactive stands on offer for Herbert Smith Freehills staff to engage in. Able’s Creative Art Therapist, Helena, held a stand all about how movement and dance can support expression and communication for people with disability. Helena and staff worked through different movement and breathing exercises together.

Our next stand was held by Able’s National Head of Research and Centre of Excellence – Deafblind, Meredith Prain. Meredith spoke about deafblind communication and taught staff how to fingerspell their name.

Herbert Smith Freehills staff also got to meet deafblind artists, Joe Monteleone and Alex Sar at their stands. Joe and Alex explained their incredible tactile artworks and their experience creating art as a deafblind person.

Able Australia has partnered with Herbert Smith Freehills for 16-years in hosting our Able Art Exhibition each year, celebrating creative expression for people with disability.

Thank you so much to Herbert Smith Freehills for allowing us to share about experience art in a new way at your lunch event. We are also so grateful your ongoing support in helping to create better days, every day for our clients with disability.
