On 27 April, participants of our Deafblind Recreation Program, along with their supports went to the Collingwood Children’s Farm!
Able Australia’s Deafblind Rec Program is a 12-month program for clients who use our deafblind services and the wider deafblind community via Deafblind Victoria.
We also extended the invitation to the deaf/deafblind people who frequent Able’s Day services, as they are part of our deafblind community too.
Each month, the group meet at a different location around Melbourne to socialise, have some lunch and explore.
This month, the group had a special tour where they got to pat the guinea pigs, brush the cow and a table was set up with local fruits, vegies and flowers for the deafblind community – this was a great tactile experience of the environment.
There were lots of laughs and smiles, and some playing fun jokes on each other throughout the day!
