On Tuesday the 7th of September, we opened our Lowood site as a COVID-19 vaccination hub for the second time. In collaboration with Aspen Medical, this vaccination hub brings the vaccine to our clients, staff, and community members in South East Queensland.
Our Able Queensland team also arranged with those who couldn’t make it themselves to be picked up and transported in our vehicles, and then taken home.
Clients, staff and community members were provided with donuts, chocolate and coffee while waiting for the required 15 minutes for monitoring.
“It is great to be able to provide this hub to our clients” says our Queensland Community Services Coordinator, Christine Steele.
The vaccination hub was very successful in being accessible, centrally located and supported by our team. So much so that Aspen Medical are planning on running further vaccination hubs for the community from this site.
We are excited to have the second vaccination dose hub on the 29th of September.
We are so happy that we can support seniors to be vaccinated and protect them from COVID-19, and so proud of our team for finding local solutions to local issues such as this.
Below are some photos of our staff and clients who have been vaccinated at the hub.
We were also delighted to have Mr Bradly Cooper, the CEO of Volunteering Gold Coast (VGC), revisit our Vaccination Hub in Queensland.
Mr Cooper and other members of the VGC team were offered the opportunity to participate in the Aspen Hubs, and visited our Southport Vaccination hub for his first and now second dose of the vaccine. We are very happy to be able to support the community to be vaccinated, and are appreciative of the gratitude that Mr Cooper’s expressed around the willingness of Able to collaborate make a difference. Below are some photos of Mr Cooper at our Southport site.
