National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteers and will be held on 15 – 21 May 2023.
National Volunteer Week 2023 is a celebration of our power to drive change and ensure volunteering is inclusive of all members of the Australian community.
To say thank you, we took our amazing volunteers in South East Queensland out for lunch to celebrate their incredible contribution.
On 13 May, our Queensland team held a volunteer lunch at Ipswich which was attended by staff and volunteers! On 17 May, our team took our Southport volunteers out to lunch at the SOPO Brewery Co. The following day, the team took some of the Lowood Volunteers out for lunch at Bellevue Hotel at Coominya! Lastly, on 20 May our Jimboomba volunteers were taken to Lunch at the Beaudesert RSL.
A huge thank you to all our volunteers – without them, we would be unable to provide many of our services in Queensland to support vulnerable people within the community.
Additional to the festivities, Able’s Acting Regional Operations Manager, Qld, Edmund and our Volunteer Coordinator, Leanne attended the Logan City Council Volunteer Awards thankyou breakfast.
Able Australia were nominated for the Davida Steele Memorial Award for an outstanding community organisation which we are so grateful for.
