The Boards of Able Australia Services and Mosaic Support Services are pleased to announce their intention to merge effective 2 December 2024, subject to final Board approval. This strategic merger aims to secure a stronger and more sustainable future for both organisations, enhancing service delivery to adults and children with disabilities across Tasmania. Together, we will be stronger.

Both organisations have been actively exploring strategic mergers to support growth, innovation and sustainability, recognising that scale will be important in the future, particularly given the funding challenges facing the sector.

This move will bring together two organisations with a shared purpose and values. Able Australia is a leading service provider with a proud history of providing safe and quality services to people with a disability, including in Tasmania. Mosaic is a highly regarded disability and children’s services provider, the largest in Tasmania.

The merger combines the collective resources, knowledge, and expertise of both organisations, significantly enhancing our capacity to innovate and grow our service offerings and achieve efficiencies. Along with a strong local footprint, we will continue to have a national presence and draw on our combined capabilities.

Together, we would deliver support to over 600 people with disability in Tasmania, supported by more than 900 employees across Tasmania. Clients and families will see minimal impact to services and will benefit from a greater choice of programs and services.

The leadership and Boards of both organisations are extremely excited about the opportunity this merger presents and fully believe there will be strong benefits for clients, families, employees and the broader Tasmanian community.
