October Vacation Care – booking available now!

October Vacation Care bookings are now open!

Are you looking for supports during the Tasmanian October school holidays?

We have an action-packed two weeks planned for Able’s October Vacation Care, with plenty of opportunities to have fun, spend time with friends, try new things and build skills along the way.

Across the two weeks, activities will support young people to:

  • Connect and socialise – spend time with friends, meet new people and enjoy shared experiences through outings, games and group activities.

  • Get active – build confidence and enjoy movement through swimming, playground visits, bowling and exploring the community.

  • Get creative and express themselves – explore individual interests and creativity through arts and crafts, making activities and a visit to the Theatre Royal.

  • Build everyday skills – get hands-on with cooking and baking, including making pizzas and pancakes.

  • Explore the community – enjoy new experiences and build confidence getting out and about, with trips to Richmond, TMAG, ZooDoo and more.

When: Monday 5 October to Friday 16 October 2026
Time: 9am–3pm, Monday to Friday
Where: Able Respite Lutana, with outings throughout the program

WEEK ONE: 5 – 9 October

Monday: Day at Richmond – maze, feed the ducks, picnic lunch and ice cream. (Cost TBC)

Tuesday: Make-your-own pizza and Disney+ movie day.

Wednesday: Kingston Park Playground, picnic lunch and ice cream. ($5 out-of-pocket cost)

Thursday: Oatlands Pool and pancakes. ($20 out-of-pocket cost)

Friday: Staycation at Theatre Royal – make your own headband.

WEEK TWO: 12 – 16 October

Monday: TMAG outing with a picnic lunch.

Tuesday: ZooDoo and aquarium with a packed lunch. ($23 out-of-pocket cost)

Wednesday: Bowling. ($20 out-of-pocket cost)

Thursday: Baking, arts and crafts day.

Friday: Aquatic Centre or Glenorchy Pool. ($10 out-of-pocket cost)
