The Deafblind Children’s Working Group has been formed as a result of the lack of services and resources for children who are deafblind, their families and those working with them.
The primary aims of the Deafblind Children’s Working Group are:
To raise issues relevant to deafblind children, their families, and professionals working with them in Australia.
To identify and explore ways to address key gaps in research and training related to deafblind children in Australia.
To raise awareness about the Deafblind Children’s Working group and its activities through personal and professional networks.
A key activity of the Deafblind Children’s Working Group has been to undertake a scoping review of prevalence of deafblind children in Australia. Clickherefor more information about the scoping reivew.
