National Deafblind Children’s Working Group

Centre of Excellence – Deafblind (CoE – DB)

The Deafblind Children’s Working Group has been formed as a result of the lack of services and resources for children who are deafblind, their families and those working with them.

The primary aims of the Deafblind Children’s Working Group are:

  • To raise issues relevant to deafblind children, their families, and professionals working with them in Australia.

  • To identify and explore ways to address key gaps in research and training related to deafblind children in Australia.

  • To raise awareness about the Deafblind Children’s Working group and its activities through personal and professional networks.

A key activity of the Deafblind Children’s Working Group has been to undertake a scoping review of prevalence of deafblind children in Australia. Click here for more information about the scoping reivew.
