During this crazy COVID time, a few of our Able staff members wanted to cheer up our clients at one of our supported homes by throwing party!

The theme of the party was “The great escape”, which aimed to bring some joy and excitement during strict social isolation in Victoria.

Due to restrictions in Victoria, we have had to close our day services, which many of our clients thoroughly enjoy. However, along with their one-hour exercise per day, staff wanted to offer our clients some fun and exciting party activities to help provide some excitement and mental stimulation.

Three of our clients at the home are deafblind, so they thoroughly enjoyed the different party hats, balloons and streamers which offered sensory stimulation.

Staff organised yummy party food prepared in a COVID-safe way. This included party pies, sausage rolls, chocolate, teddy bears biscuits, cupcakes, which was happily washed down with some delicious McDonald’s hot chocolate!

The weather was great for the party and clients and staff were having a great time using the trampoline too.

Staff and clients are already planning our next theme party at the end of this month!
