The aim of the Deafblind Employability Project was to support people with deafblindness to gain employment and raise awareness about deafblindness. In order to achieve this, the project consisted of train the trainer training for people with deafblindness in how to run deafblind awareness training.
The project involved people with deafblindness in accessible training, to enhance their skills in:
Time management
Organisational skills
Knowledge of business terms
Receiving and delivering training
How to write an invoice
The second component focuses on employers of people with disability. By reaching out to people with deafblindness to deliver deafblind awareness training, employers learn how to create a more accessible work environment, and decrease barriers to employment that people with deafblindness often face.
