October is Seniors Month! Seniors Month Seniors Month provides opportunities to promote positive community attitudes towards older people and ageing, facilitate community participation, and enhance community connections.
To celebrate our wonderful seniors, Able Australia, in partnership with the City of Ipswich, Queensland Government and Queensland Seniors Month, hosted a Seniors Expo on 11 October 2022. The expo is a great opportunity to meet new people and engage with local organisations.
The expo included various activities such as an exercise session with accredited exercise physiologist, Steve Royle, arts and crafts, a dance performance by Raceview Kindergarten and Childcare, free lunch, live music by Ally and Sarah, and more! Teresa Harding, Mayor of the City of Ipswich opened the expo and acknowledgement of country.
Overall, the expo was a great success and seniors and staff alike enjoyed the day!
