Sensory Community of Practice

Centre of Excellence – Deafblind (CoE – DB)

The Sensory Community of Practice is a special interest group for Allied Health  professionals from educational and disability backgrounds with an interest in service provision to people who are blind, Deaf and deafblind. . The Community of Practice meets on a bi-monthly basis to share information and discuss a variety of topics related to deafblindness.

Sensory Community of Practice meetings often include presentations from guest speakers with specialist knowledge. Some of our most recent presentations and discussions have included:

  • Positive behaviour support

  • The role of an orthoptist

  • Introducing signing to families

  • Case studies

  • Post Deafblind Conference feedback
