The development of a Core Set for deafblindness using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health

Centre of Excellence – Deafblind (CoE – DB)

Partners: Deafblind International, University of Montreal, University of Melbourne

Overview:

An ICF Core Set brings together a set of ICF codes and their descriptors to assist in the understanding and definition of functioning, disability, and health in relation to a specific health condition or health care context.  This can help in the development of research and policy, and in the allocation of resources to the benefit of specific groups of people, in this case, people with deafblindness.

This study is an  international study, which will bring together the views and experiences about deafblindness from around the world from people with deafblindness, their families and carers, professionals and from the current research literature.
