Overview:

The first Deafblind International African conference was held from 12 – 14 May, 2022 in Kenya. To support this conference, Deafblind International established an African Research Initiative (ARI) committee to support African based research in deafblindness. Dr Meredith Prain from Able Australia was a member of the committee and mentored African based researchers on two research projects.

Meredith also participated in research with colleagues Dr Diane Bell and Dr Natasha Layton on a project in Southern African countries.
