Imagine walking out of your front door and not being able to see the footpath, or hear what’s happening on the street. Deafblindness is the combination of hearing and vision loss.
Cathy is deafblind and lives in an Able supported home, and has been a part of the Able community for over 30 years. Cathy has support in everyday activities that some of us take for granted, like physically navigating her environment, and accessing health information.
This is Josh. His whole face lights up when our team members take him bowling, golfing or on community outings with his friends from our Young Adult Program.
Josh enjoys our health and wellbeing programs, including personal training, swimming and Tai Chi.
Colby loves attending Able’s Day Service, which supports her to build her independence and learning.
One of the activities she enjoys is our cultural cooking program. Each week, clients are supported to shop, prepare and cook a traditional dish from a different country whilst also engaging in art, craft, dance and music from that country.
